I’m really glad you’re here.
If you’ve landed on this page, there’s a good chance you’re tired of the constant noise around food, weight, and how you’re supposed to look or be. Maybe you’re feeling stuck in cycles of guilt, comparison, or self-criticism. Maybe you’re just quietly wondering, Is it possible to have a more peaceful relationship with my body?
Short answer: yes. And you don’t have to figure it out alone.
A Little About Me
I’m Courtney, a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist! My passion lies in working with body image, eating disorder recovery, and helping people unlearn diet culture so they can reconnect with themselves in a more grounded, compassionate way.
I believe that bodies are not problems to be fixed - they’re homes to be cared for.
My work is rooted in curiosity, gentleness, and respect for each person’s lived experience. I don’t believe in quick fixes or shame-based motivation. I do believe in building skills, awareness, and self-trust over time, even when that process feels messy or nonlinear.
Outside of the therapy room, I’m a big animal lover and share my life with my corgi, Winnie, who brings a lot of joy (and personality) into my days. I love getting lost in a good horror or thriller novel, hiking all over the world whenever I can, listening to folk music, and dancing... especially when no one’s watching.

Why I Do This Work
So many people come to therapy believing something is “wrong” with them because they can’t just "eat normally", love their body, or feel confident all the time.
In reality, most of these struggles make complete sense when you zoom out and look at the culture we live in.
Diet culture teaches us to mistrust our bodies. Comparison culture teaches us our worth is conditional. Productivity culture teaches us rest has to be earned.
My role is to help you untangle those messages, understand your patterns with compassion (not judgment), and move toward a relationship with food and your body that feels more sustainable, and more you.
What You’ll Find Here
While this blog is informed by my work as a therapist, it’s meant for general education and reflection and is not a substitute for therapy.
Here, you’ll find reflections, tools, and gentle reminders related to:
Body image and self-worth
Eating disorder recovery and healing your relationship with food
Letting go of diet culture and weight stigma
Self-compassion, boundaries, and emotional resilience
Navigating holidays, seasons, and life transitions with more ease
Some posts may feel validating. Others might gently challenge beliefs you’ve been holding for a long time. All of them are written with the intention of offering support — not pressure — wherever you are in your journey.
If You’re New to This Work
You don’t need to be fully “ready,” confident, or sure of what you want in order to begin.
Curiosity is enough.
Neutrality is enough.
Taking one small step toward support is enough.
Whether you’re here to read quietly, learn something new, or explore working together more directly, you’re welcome exactly as you are.
Want to Go Deeper?
